Develops a fully integrated surface water–groundwater budget for the Upper Snake basin, including consumptive use, river–aquifer exchange, runoff efficiency trends, and projections of future water supply to support conjunctive management.

IWRRI is coordinating an effort to better estimate key water budget components in the Upper Snake Basin. The team is calibrating a soil-water-balance (SWB) model to simulate daily, monthly, and annual basin-scale water-budget components for the Upper Snake River Basin. Further SWB model refinement and calibration will occur from faculty engaged through funded state projects.
