Idaho Water Research Priorities RFP
IWRRI is excited to launch the 2025 RFP for state-funded actionable water research. Please see details about the projects you can apply to. You can learn more about the research prioritization process and outcomes by reading the associated report, which can also be found on our Research page.

2025 USGS 104(b) RFP is closed
Applications have been accepted and awardees will be announced soon.
2025 USGS 104(g) RFP is open
The fiscal year 2025 Water Resources Research Act program request for applications includes three grant programs:
- National Competitive Grants FY2025(104g) – Funding Opportunity Number (FON) G25AS00485
- Aquatic Invasive Species Competitive Grants – Funding Opportunity Number (FON) G25AS00483. These grants are only for work taking place in the Upper Mississippi River basin.
- Per -and polyflouroalkyl Substances (PFAS) Competitive Grants Funding Opportunity Number (FON) G25AS00484
Water Resources Research Act program grants are administered in cooperation between the US Geological Survey and the Water Resources Research Institutes and Centers. IWRRI coordinates applications from universities or colleges in Idaho.

Applications must be submitted to the IWRRI by September 15, 2025, 8 am MT, to allow time for the IWRRI to meet the deadlines of the announcements.
