City Club of Boise Forum: The State of Water in Idaho

Full Description:

Nov 07, 2025, 11:45 AM – 1:00 PM MT
Idaho State Museum,
610 Julia Davis Dr, Boise, ID 83702, USA

Most of us take for granted that clean water will flow from the tap and our wastewater will be handled appropriately. Idaho’s water systems are facing challenges: combined wastewater and drinking water infrastructure needs in Idaho now surpass $1 billion. These pressures come from infrastructure reaching the end of its lifespan, new regulatory requirements, and the population growth that has reshaped our state in recent years. At this City Club forum, we’ll examine these often-unseen systems that sustain daily life, explore the scale of investment required, and discuss how communities across Idaho can plan for their water future.

Panelists:
Jerri Henry, Drinking Water Protection and Finance Administrator, Dept. of Environmental Quality
Kristina Gillespie-Jaques, Infrastructure Funding Advisor, Great West Engineering
Shelley Roberts, CEO, Idaho Rural Water Association
