This project aims to monitor canal gains and losses. Highly relevant PI expertise, identified graduate students, clear use of IWRRI engagement, and achievable pilot-scale deliverables.

Researchers installed monitoring equipment in a canal in the Black Canyon irrigation district to measure the amount and location of where seepage occurs and how that changes through the season. This new approach has the potential to support managers in determining which sections of canals to line, while supporting regional modeling needs.
